Making the Ride Meaningful by Nicola le roux

It is our responsibility to look after our community and our environment. Choosing a non-profit organisation was an easy task as Kanabo Conservation Link (KCL) is a very obvious choice. Not only do they raise funds for the conservation of critically endangered African vultures they raise money while participating in the Cape Town Cycle Tour. This will be the 5th consecutive year for KCL to participate in the Cape Town Cycle Tour as a Charity Group.
B Lubbe & Associates forms part of the KCL team by providing sponsorship and assisting with the hosting of KCL Charity Group activities during the said event. It is a wonderful feeling rubbing shoulders with clients and colleagues, knowing that we are making a difference.
Kanabo is an abbreviation for Kalahari, Namibia and Botswana – comprising of the areas the organisation conduct focus work in. KCL uses research as a tool for conservation, finding solutions to human-wildlife conflict and inspiring interest in the environment through an interactive and dynamic environmental education programme. KCL further aims to create valuable links between scientific research, government institutions, the general public and the business sectors. Conservation of our critically endangered African vultures forms the base of KCL’s flagship project and their vulture restaurant is used as a platform to advocate for the protection of their natural habitat and raise the necessary awareness for the sustainability of important research and conservation projects.
